ABOUT YOUR THERAPIST

A massage therapist's hands massaging a client's hands

 MARY CAROLLA (she/her/hers)

I’ve been a massage therapist since 2002, practicing in Chicago, then here in the Madison area. Over the years, I have had the privilege to work with clients across the lifespan and in various circumstances. One thing my clients all have in common is they are seeking moments of calm and respite.

I graduated from college with a degree in communication and journalism and soon discovered that world was not quite for me. Feeling stressed and overwhelmed, I started receiving regular massages. Pretty soon, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I enrolled at Chicago School of Massage Therapy for massage training, and the rest is, as they say, history. Since graduating from massage therapy school, I have continued to expand my knowledge and skills through advanced training. (You can see more about my training and credentials below.)

In 2018, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Massage therapy was a critical part of helping me manage the effects of cancer treatment. Now, I am a cancer survivor beyond active treatment, and massage remains an important part of maintaining my health and wellness.

Massage changed everything for me. Whether I am the practitioner or the recipient, massage therapy refreshes me and brings me to the calm in the chaos. I find I can face life’s challenges with renewed patience and a clear head. I hope I can help massage do that for you, too.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

"Mary creates a beautiful, relaxing environment. She is so kind and really cares about what she can do to help you. She has been really helpful in relieving low back pain and shoulder/neck tension that leads to migraines. I have never had

a better massage!"

AMY A.

"You know a therapist is good when you follow them as they move. Mary is very attentive to your body, always visits first to find out what's happening, then adapts the session to your needs. I highly recommend Mary as she is very friendly and knowledgeable. I always look forward to my sessions, and I'm never disappointed. I leave feeling relaxed and ready for the day"
