For some people, money can feel like an obstacle to getting regular massage. We don't like to talk about money; it's supposed to be a private issue, but I'm addressing it head-on. Regular massage is a considerable budget item, and it's important to acknowledge that. I know this because I walk the walk and get regular massage. I am fairly careful with finances, so if I don’t plan for it, massage won’t happen.
But if I expect you to juggle the numbers and budget $120 for a massage every week, month, or quarter, it’s my job to tell you what you’re buying. So here it is, what you get from a 1 hour, $120 massage:
Clarity in Pricing
What I charge is clearly listed here www.regenerationmassagetherapy.com. Massage rates are all-inclusive; I do not charge extra for adding things like aromatherapy/essential oils or topical pain relief to your session. No upcharges, no surprises.
I also do not expect nor accept gratuities (more about that here). I set my prices according to my business’ needs, my skill level, and my experience. Save the “extra” for additional sessions. If you really feel you must do something as a gratuity, grab a couple of my business cards at your session and tell your friends about me. Or you can write a review.
A Full Hour
1 hour = 60 minutes. The clock doesn’t start until I walk in the room and actually begin the massage.
That’s not the case for every business. Massage franchises typically provide 50-55 minutes for a 1 hour session. Even some full-service spas operate on a 50-minute hour. But in my office 60, 75, 90, and 120 minute treatments last exactly as long as indicated. (Unless you’re late, then I may have to adjust accordingly.)
Because I manage my own schedule, I space appointment times in such a way that you don’t feel rushed off the table and out the door. You can take a moment to refresh and reorient yourself at the end of your session before you head back to “real life.” And we can spend some time creating a plan of care for you to implement between sessions to help you keep the benefits of massage lasting longer.
Ease of Scheduling
Scheduling tends to be another obstacle to getting regular massage. We may not think of scheduling massage appointments at a time that is actually convenient to call. (I frequently remember to schedule appointments at times like 10 at night.) You can schedule with me online, anytime, right here.
If you prefer, you can call or text me at 608.620.8095 to schedule. (We may need to play a bit of phone tag since I may need to call you back between clients, but we can make it work.)
Attention
You get my full attention. For 60 minutes, you are the star. You are the reason we’re in the room. Need silence? We can do that. Specific type of music? Just let me know.
Want me to spend the full hour on your feet/back/neck? Sure. Pillow? Extra blanket? Not a problem.
Your massage session is your time. No phone. No demands. Just you.
Experience
I’ve had over 20 years of practice and hundreds of hours of continuing education. They were all preparation for your massage.
I’ve taken courses in prenatal and postpartum massage, cancer support/oncology massage, headache management, orthopedic injuries, anxiety and depression, lymphatic massage and more. (And each year, I add to my bodywork toolbox.) All to help you feel your best.
Clinical Prudence
I won’t practice any techniques that are unsafe for you and your health condition.
For example, if you have osteoporosis, I’m not going to go for super deep pressure. If you have any kind of health condition, I will adjust the session accordingly to make sure the massage is safe and effective for you.
Proper Licensing and Insurance
There are some practitioners offering discounted massage, operating under the radar. If a therapist is operating without the proper licenses, their insurance will be voided in the event of claim. You can look up any Wisconsin massage practitioner’s license status here.
Being licensed also means I carry the appropriate liability insurance to protect my clients.
Referrals
A massage with me gets you connections with all the practitioners I know. That’s a lot of people. If massage isn’t helping your tendonitis/backache/anxiety, I’ll help you find the right acupuncturist, physical therapist, counselor, or other practitioner for you.
High-quality Products
I only use the best products on your skin. I use pure jojoba for my massage sessions. Jojoba is non-allergenic, gentle, and one of the closest substances to the oils produced by our skin.
I may also use a refreshing peppermint cream on the feet. This is delightful if you spend a lot of time on your feet or just on a hot summer day.
I do not use scented products or essential oils without your permission. When I do use them, be assured they are of the highest quality and from sustainable sources.
You Get to Support a Small Local Business
It’s just me! No conglomerate. No fancy management structure or corporate set up. Just a little business owner, paying my taxes, making a living, and participating in the same communities I serve. There are fewer and fewer businesses that can stay afloat in an era of big-box stores and Amazon. When you pay me $120 for a massage, you can be certain that money is staying right here in our local economy.
So there you have it: All that, from a $120 massage!
